Rain is forecast, and the forecast is realized, scattered showers through the day put a damper on plans and images.  The Lake of the Clouds is a popular destination, with a drive up a steep road to a high point in a long escarpment with cliffs to the south side.  Three view points provide great sights to the valley and lake below, the fall foliage is bursting with color, the most expansive foliage view we have seen on this trip.  A bald eagle is soaring below scouting opportunity over the lake.  A poor photo at great distance is below.

The F150 is suddenly running rough, check engine light turns on. The engine appears to be mis-firing, but is still drivable.  East 15 miles in Ontonagon, a repair station confirms my suspicion of a possible bad coil, we will return Monday at 9:00.  Update – The problem may have been bad gas, and has resolved itself, no faults found on Monday.

The lake shore at the campground consists of an interesting slope of broken red shale, the color is rich, the walking is tricky.
