Highly recommended by friends, and highly rated by Google and Trip Advisor, the Henry Ford Museum is a very well presented and maintained collection which highlights twentieth century advances in transportation, machinery, and living. I could have spent much more time studying the turn of the century steam engines, generators, road and farm vehicles. The ingenuity and great advances of the early machines is very interesting to an engineer.
The collection of cars is of course a highlight, and includes many early and mid-age autos from many manufacturers both domestic and foreign. Also displayed are some notable milestones of air and train travel.
Henry Ford himself and the museum has acquired some very special vehicles and machines, including an impressive set of presidential vehicles, including the JFK Lincoln Continental from the tragic day in Texas.
We enjoyed a simple lunch in a diner car within the museum. I highly recommend a visit to the Henry Ford Museum!
